wally world "helping" china after the earthquake

http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=15039

so apparently walmart donated money to help the people of china after the earthquake.
the problem is, they donated the amount of money they make in 20 minutes.
But from that 20 minutes they got weeks of PR coverage by patting themselves on the back. Of course... they forgot to mention all the Chinese people forced to work in Walmart sweatshops so we can "save money and live better."

just something to think about.

i think i need to be more aware about what my money is supporting when i buy things.

Wow, Thats some interesting math, 20 min of profit! There's a walmart in the next town down from us (Longmont, CO) and to show how walmart is going environmentally conscious, they have put a few solar panels on the roof. To make sure people get the point, they light them up with flood lights at night! :-)

But regardless, I think we can't chastise walmart too much, a good dead is a good dead, even if it has selfish intentions. I know personally there is hardly a good thing I do without some selfish motive in it... but should I stop doing good because my intentions are evil? by no means!
